Shakespeare Media had a fantastic time filming with the team at Active Air in Revesby over a two-day shoot. This family run business which has been in operation since the 1950's, is a specialist hire company that provides temporary climate control, power generation and electrical distribution equipment. Some of their offerings include cooling, heating, power generation, power distribution and refrigeration.
The company which employees 45 full-time staff and has 5 depots across Australia has powered some of the country's most prominent festivals including Vivid Sydney, Taste Sydney and Melbourne, Brisbane Festival and Sydney Festival along with major motorsport and sporting events, expos and fashion shoots.
Their project managers have designed and delivered some of the most complex temporary installations in Australia including climate control for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. Active Air Rentals will be providing over 6 megawatts of temporary cooling across five of the largest venues.

Active Air rentals is a family business and we've been associated with the air-conditioning industry since the 1950s. I'm the third generation, and today Active Air rentals is a specialist hire business.
We provide temporary climate control power generation and electrical distribution equipment. We employ over forty five full-time staff and we have five divisions across Australia, so we're small enough to be flexible and we can make decisions quickly while we're still large enough to tackle the largest conditioners package units, chillers and air handlers. We also rent generators and fuel cells as well as electrical cabling and distribution boards.
We carry the 4,5 kilowatt air cons which is mainly designed for your offices and your banks up to, we can air condition a warehouse essentially.
We do a lot of work with festivals, motorsport, sporting events, expos, fashion shoots, anywhere they can put up a marquee and require air conditioning or heating electrical systems. We have an offer for that, so with the festivals we're running Vivid Sydney, Taste Sydney and Melbourne, Brisbane Festival, Sydney Festival.
We aim to provide our clients with a turnkey solution so not only can we provide air conditioning for marquees or buildings but we can also provide the power for the site and the electrical equipment to distribute that power.
Having our own engineering departments gives our company far more depth, it sets us apart from the opposition because they don't employ full-blown engineers. A lot of our clients when they come to us they have a problem or they have a need, but they don't know how to achieve that and our engineering department can design a solution for that.
We have our own experienced project managers who have designed and delivered some of the most complex temporary installations in Australia. We have technicians on call all the time and we're often installing equipment after hours. We understand that we're a service business and we need to be there for our clients when they need us.
The key to our business has been our people, we have an amazing team and they're always willing to work long hours to ensure installations are completed on time and they always go above and beyond for our clients. We really couldn't do it without them.
